Do you feel like your life is slipping through your fingers with time passing you by and that you are powerless to stop it?
If life isn’t working out the right way for you, surely you must still dream of a better life and how different things could be.
Once you do, then to create the life you want, maybe all it will take is massive action to bring about your desired outcome, alternatively do nothing and allow mediocrity to be your path.
To many people find life’s a constant struggle and they can see no way out so they end up settling for what they get. I just can’t understand anyone accepting a life that doesn’t give them happiness.
I know life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and weeks just seem to fly by. I don’t want anybody to one day wake up and find it’s too late to make the most of the time they had to live a meaningful happy life, instead they’ve thrown it away having promised themselves over and over again that of ‘I’m going to,’ ‘I will do,’ and ‘Someday’, and someday never comes.
Today I’m thinking of somebody I know who is stuck in a rut. Life has not gone the way she would have planned. She’s in her mid 50’s, no partner, no children, no career. Her life is wrapped around caring for her elderly parents and not much more. She seems to just go through life with nothing driving her forward. No excitement, no true dream to spur her on. It shows in her demeanour, in everything about her. Yet I know the talents and skills she possesses, and within the beautiful person she is. It’s all hidden under a rubble of disappointment, but now it’s time for her to dig her way out and find herself again. Noone should allow themselves to allow life to pass you by.
I read a quote that I want to pin to her fridge which says:
“Life may not be the party we hoped for… but while we’re here we may as well dance.” Jeanne C. Stein
I know life is not perfect and maybe events have to this point gone against you. That’s life! That doesn’t, however, mean you cannot still make dreams come true.
There’s no shortage of misery in the world. Why continue to focus on the negative and fail to enjoy the time and opportunities you have. Life is full of possibilities if you give yourself the chance to find them. It takes time and effort to be happy. So do something every day to help yourself find a better way to live.
We have to put ourselves back into the driving seat of life. In my mind I want to go through every day feeling motivated and having a passion for life with focus and direction.
Remember if you do what you have always done you will get what you have always got. So do something different and invest in yourself. See who you truly want to be, do and have and set about creating that life, instead of doing nothing and letting life pass you by.
So, no matter what is going on in your life, make a conscious choice to be happy. Life isn’t always going to be the party we’d hoped for, but while we are here, we might as well dance. Even if you have two left feet like me and are tone deaf you can dance to your own tempo and invent a life as you want to live it.
Don’t choose to stay stuck in a life where you are unhappy and unfulfilled, instead find a vision, create a plan, and take whatever steps you have available to you.
“What saves a man is to take a step. Then another step. It is always the same step, but you have to take it.” Antoine de Saint-Exupér
What actions will you take every day to help you find a better way to live? As soon as you start imagining your future, you can begin creating your dreams.
“Life is not about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself” George Bernard Shaw
So my question for you all today is are you taking the steps necessary to improve your life or just wishing something would come along to make things better?

People who have great lives find it easy to preach to those who don’t as if it’s so easy.
My husband left me over my infertity. An unexpected accident a few years later left me disabled, in constant pain and wiped me out financially. I lost my job, my savings, my car and my house.
So I can’t travel, engage in the hobbies I enjoyed and I face being more disabled and probably in a care center, controlled by medical professionals.I won’t have grandchildren to visit and play with.
The best everyone can suggest is doing volunteer work. I spent my childhood taking care of a critically-ill parent. I do not find waiting on other people enriching to me. Oh yeah – It makes THEM happy to get my free work and at the end of the day I go home alone.
