I’m proof that you’re never too old to achieve your dreams!
I know that one message I bang the drum about that does resonate with a lot of people is the fact that you are never too old to achieve your dreams. Today I was inspired by an email I received from one of my readers Jacqueline.
One of the best decisions I ever made was to go for my passions with unrelenting determination. I committed to making a living doing what I love, and then ever since have put in the effort that is needed to make it happen. At times it’s been hard. One thing has had to always be there within me so that I would keep going.
Believing that it was possible.
Faith in myself and my abilities was paramount to my growth. . When we don’t believe in ourselves we will never mount up the courage to go for our dreams. And we will never have the persistence to see things through to the end.
At times I assure you things have not gone my way. There’s been a few knock down blows that I’ve experienced. It is at these times of adversity where your faith and belief are the most crucial assets that will ensure you achieving your destiny. Believe totally with a passion that nothing can stop you from achieving great things on this earth. The only person that can stop you from success is yourself.
By believing in myself and what I do I’ve built a great business, I’m an entrepreneur, healthy lifestyle blogger and sports enthusiast with a passion for living life to the fullest and fulfilling my potential. To be building an online sports and nutrition shop is like a dream for me. I’m like a little boy in a fantasy. I have to pinch myself that this is all real.
I’m proof that you’re never too old to achieve your dreams! This journey started with blogging and that began a mere 3 years ago. Soon I will tell the story of my biggest downfall that happened in January 2008. Now 5 years later I have rebuilt my life, found work I was meant to do, and am beginning to live my dreams. Have you ever felt like you’re too old to make a serious change in your life?
It really breaks my heart when I hear someone saying they’re too old to achieve their dreams. Worse that they really believe life has passed them by. Hearing this is so frustrating to me, and I genuinely just want to be an inspiration to these people and show them how wrong they are and help them rekindle their dreams.
Anything is possible, there really is no such thing as ‘old age’ it’s never too late to achieve your dreams. You remain totally alive as long as your dreams do. And before you find the excuse for why you are different, realise everyone will initially tell themselves:
I’m not qualified, gifted, talented, capable, knowledgeable or deserving enough to do it.
So what do you truly want from life? Come on ask yourself the question and let your mind reflect on it.
Whatever your age, accept that the rest of your life is still ahead of you, and you don’t know how long that’s for. So make the most of whatever time you’ve got. Only you can change your future and now is your time to take action!
Ask yourself:
What dreams have I put on hold that I truly want to achieve?
What attitude or belief is holding me back?
What one thing can do right now to move forward towards my dreams?

Hey Larry,
I agree that there is no defined age limit for achieving one’s goals and also there is no limit for the age where one can start nurturing a dream about the goals. Your story is truly inspirational and I guess each and every one who reads this post, can relate with you in some or the other form. Indeed, you are the proof. Thanks.
I agree, and you know what’s interesting? I’ve found that it’s only *after* 40 that I really feel I can achieve what I want. I think it can take a degree of maturity to know what “going for what you want” really means. It’s a process and it’s a science. IMO.
Growing old does not mean you stop dreaming and dreams are not age restricted. Dreams are opposite of reality and they make you imagine the impossible as possible and give you the courage to actually prove it so. Persistence and faith in ones own self is the key. Thanks for the great share.
