This article is going to introduce you to plant based intermittent fasting a powerful tool to help you improve your health and even restore health after long term illness.
Today I want to tell you about the main factor responsible for me personally being able to take back my health. I changed my diet. Having learnt about the negative effects of eating meat, poultry and all animal based products including dairy; as well as the benefits of fasting to help your body benefit from its internal healing process; I implemented a plant based intermittent fasting diet regime, and it transformed my life.
There is a huge body of research that shows many chronic and life-threatening diseases are preventable. But because conventional medical therapy does not address the cause of disease, it thereby limits itself greatly as a long-term solution. Plant Based Intermittent Fasting removes the most significant causes of disease, and can frequently bring back huge improvements in health.
I have literally seen the healing power of food (the right food) and know what it will do for your health and well-being. My belief is that many common health problems started when we moved away from the eating and lifestyle habits of our long-ago ancestors. They never ate meat, well very rarely, and certainly never eat processed foods or ready meals full of salt, sugar and fats. It’s a fact that chronic obesity, cardiovascular disease and other health related issues are more a result of modern diet than anything else.
Many of you may well have suffered unknowingly from your dietary practices and over the time of your life the food you have eaten may well have contributed to things starting to break down and decay in your body! Your diet is a major contributor to why you feel burned out, fatigued, full of aches and pains, and sick! A plant based intermittent fasting diet can change this.
All my life I’ve loved my food, regularly enjoying steak, meat-based meals, eggs, and all the other hallmarks of a diet heavy in animal products and processed foods. Having experienced ill health for over three years, having tried everything I possibly could to restore myself to good health, to me although the idea of changing my diet so dramatically by implementing a plant based diet didn’t sit comfortably, I was willing to give it a go because nothing was more important to me than rebuilding my life. This was probably the best decision I’ve ever made.
I hope you see the sense in what I’m going to say and try a plant based intermittent fasting diet for yourself.
I also loved my breakfasts. As a fitness professional, I had always advocated the importance of eating a hearty breakfast. I ensured I never missed starting my day feeding my body, providing the energy I believed it needed. Well I have now learnt this is wrong. In fact, it is far more beneficial to not eat breakfast and allow your body much more time to assimilate, process and clear out what’s inside of you.
By giving one’s body a complete rest from the work of digestion and assimilation of food it can start the process of internal healing. I have seen for myself how fasting accelerates the healing process and allows the body to recover from serious disease in a dramatically short period of time. When we don’t eat, our body starts focusing on cleaning out the poisons and waste stored in our tissues and cells. For me within the first four days I began to see major changes. Far more energy, better concentration, far better sleep, and able to keep going for at least 3 hours longer every day. No more was I hitting the wall by 8pm and having to fall into bed.
I’m not even suggesting a 7 day fast, not a 48 hour one, or even a 24 hour one, for you ladies I’m suggesting 14 hours daily fast, and to the fellas 16 hours fast. By fast I mean to abstain from all food, no calories at all. But you can still drink water, coffee, black with no sweetener of any kind, or one of the fabulous herbal teas, my choice is Lemon Green Tea.
Fasting will generally last through the night and during the morning hours. My fasting period is most often 8pm to 12 noon; but you could do 6pm to 10am; 7pm to 11am, or whatever 16 hours suits your lifestyle and work. By not eating until nearly lunchtime, and presuming you have not eaten since dinner the night before, then each day you are giving your body a long window in which you are not consuming any calories. This is incredibly advantageous to your health as well as weight loss. You eat all your meals in an 8-hour window.
But of course, what you eat in that 8-hour window is also crucial. With a plant based intermittent fasting diet you’ll eat fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes allows the body’s own rejuvenate powers to work, often with amazing results. Cutting out overeating and a diet made up of high-fat, high-animal protein and highly refined foods lays the groundwork for healthy eating.
I eat at least five pieces of fresh fruit a day and a large green salad daily. In addition, a large serving of dark green vegetable such as broccoli, spinach, or kale (which may be steamed or microwaved if desired), nuts and seeds, whole meal tortilla or pitta. I enjoy whole wheat rice, lentils, beans and humous and avocado, although I am careful to avoid too much fat, even the healthy type.
Once I changed my diet, stopped eating animal and dairy products, refined white flour and sugar products, and anything that was not a whole grain, whole food and natural, instead eating healthy things like vegetables, fruits, beans, legumes, seeds and nuts my health changed dramatically. So, fasting in conjunction with plant based eating offers the ability to undo the damage done to the body by the rich diets of modern societies. It is something you’d benefit from greatly because a whole food, plant-based diet t has the power to prevent and reverse disease.
I will be writing far more on this subject in the coming weeks to help provide you with all the information you need to introduce a plant based intermittent fasting diet to your life.

The concept is very interesting, but I think that you slow your metabolism and when you stop your intermittent fasting diet, you may recover the weight very fast. Please let me know your thoughts!
