I am frequently asked questions similar to what does it take to live a healthy lifestyle.
My first response makes it sound so simple.
You have to eat right
You’ve got to do exercise
You need to get sufficient sleep
You need to relax your mind and body
You need to reduce or eliminate bad habits
I could go on but the truth is most of you already know exactly what you need to do to live a healthy lifestyle. Knowledge is not the place most people fall down.
In some cases people aren’t realising the significant importance of a healthy lifestyle. You have to know why its important to you. I’m a great believer in preventative medicine but what this means to me is taking the right steps to avoiding ill health and as importantly blessing yourself with the benefits of great health such as vitality, energy and the ability to be at peak. Western society struggles so badly from diseases that can be prevented when you live a healthy lifestyle. High blood pressure and diabetes are just two examples. So knowing the importance still many choose to not live a healthy lifestyle.
It’s a matter of making it a priority. We have so many things fighting for our attention and so much going on in our lives, that the only things we truly focus on are those we make a priority. Surely your health should be top of the list. Of course working hard is a necessity of life but if you allow ill health to get a grip everything else will grind to a halt.
You have to allocate the time necessary to live a healthy lifestyle. You have to put two things in, thought and preparation. Throw in some commitment and you quite easily implement your healthy lifestyle.
Think about what you need to do and when you need to do it. This is where you need PERSONAL DISCIPLINE a key trait for everything you want to achieve in life. Without this you will fail. Preparation for meals, allocating a set time for your exercise, buying only the foods right for a healthy lifestyle, not eating those foods that are bad for you and that you like so much. Sticking with it for a lifetime certainly requires personal discipline.
The final element to enable you to live a healthy lifestyle is making it a must do goal. Determine why it’s important to you. For me its definitely first and foremost a health issue. I want to be fit and full of energy so I can enjoy my granddaughter for a long time to come. Also from purely a pride thing, having been a fitness instructor I want to have the body to be proud of. I’m sure you have many motivating reasons why you should live a healthy lifestyle.
I know that the older you get the more important it is to live a healthy lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle may do more than simply slow the ageing process, it could actually reverse it.
Im sure you have many motivating reasons why you should live a healthy lifestyle. So no time like the present to get started and live a healthy lifestyle.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I am a busy woman but I am trying hard to live healthy (doing exercise, eat a lot but also healthy :)). It takes me some time from my working day but the my feeling is very positive.

I agree that personal or self-discipline is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, a lot of people – including myself at times – have found it to be very difficult to develop the necessary self-discipline to change from an unhealthy lifestyle to a healthy lifestyle. Why is this the case? How do you convince someone that you love very dearly that it would be in their best interest to eat right, and exercise more?
Health is a big issue as you get older, because your body is losing it’s gusto. If you are careful, and live your life as healthy as you can retirement can be that much more enjoyable.
