Make Peace With Yourself

‘You’re such an idiot’

‘You always mess things up’

‘You’ll never make anything from your life’.

Who am I talking to here? I’m not; I’m saying the type of things many of you say to yourself day after day.

“You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection. ” Buddha

How much time do you spend thinking on things you’re getting wrong, beating yourself up mentally in the process, focusing your energy on failure and disappointment?

Don’t you think it’s time you give yourself a break and relate to yourself with a true sense of kindness, compassion, and acceptance? Isn’t it time you took back your power from the negative voice that hides inside of you that constantly reminds you of all your flaws and failures. That pessimistic voice that assures you of impending doom and disaster.

You should be really proud of yourself. You’re here, on a healthy lifestyle and personal development blog, you are seeking answers, you’re wanting to grow. Life is a long learning process. No matter where you have got, there is always something new to learn.

Instead of criticising yourself and putting yourself down, I want you to accept that you’re okay just the way you are right now. You’re not the finished product, but you’re putting time into ‘you’ and you’re trying to improve. Shake yourself, realise that you’re taking big steps.

I’m actually asking you to make peace with yourself. Celebrate all of who you are. No longer allow this dark side of you dominate your thoughts.

This dark side is sometimes called our “shadow” in psychological and spiritual teachings. It is a collection of negative instincts and emotions suppressed in our unconscious mind. The more we allow this to affect us the more debilitating impact it has on our lives

Make peace with this ‘ dark ’ aspect of yourself, thank it for it’s advise and keep learning, growing and developing. Allow your self -confidence and strength to radiate from you.

See and accept all of who you. Stop spending time trying to cover up, fix, change, or avoid the stuff you think is “ bad ” about who you are. This takes a lot of energy and causes a lot of stress, suffering, and pain in your life. You’re doing things now in the best way, you’re wanting to improve certain aspects of yourself and you’re doing something about it.

Life is an on going process and the journey becomes so much simpler when you learn to adapt an attitude of Self – forgiveness.

So get rid of those issues, failures, and mistakes you keep hanging on to and stop being so hard on yourself, don’t any longer give your power over to your shadow and its negativity and self – criticism.

Face your weaknesses, failures, and mistakes head on, take responsibility for them, make amends if necessary, and ultimately forgive yourself, and continue to learn, grow, and move on,

“Having a low opinion of yourself is not ‘ modesty, ’it ’ s self – destruction. Holding your uniqueness in high regard is not ‘ egotism, ’ it ’ s a necessary precondition to happiness and success. ” Bobbe Sommer

You are right! I believe that not just criticizing self too much is bad for self esteem and self destructive. There is other thing that is very harmful and that is thinking that your enemy or competitor or anyone who is set to make things worse for you, is more powerful or in better position than you. Remember you have your own positive points that you can use to your advantage.

Youre right steve. We are our own masters. If we concentrate on ourselves, appreciate our worth and our talents, always have a positive belief in ourselves, then there is no need to worry about anybody else.
