- Does our auto-suggestion need to be based on negativity and fear
Hello Loddy here exploring the topic of autosuggestion.
This is self suggestion. In other words it’s those thoughts we churn over in our heads when we think nobody is looking or watching us. Most people tend to focus on the negative aspect of autosuggestion. “Why did I not complete the job. I could have done it better. That was a stupid thing to do.
Some people use it in a positive way. They churn over in their heads the finished task with a feeling of satisfaction. This feeling empowers them to emit positive thoughts. It also allows them to feel good about them selves. Looking at the scenarios, where do you fit in? Do you have a positive autosuggesstion or negative autosuggestion tape playing in your head?
Most people unfortunately grow up with a negative autosuggestion tape playing in their minds.
This might help to explain why does our autosuggestion need to be based on negativity and fear.
Do you remember the word no as a child? Don’t run you will fall. No you cant do it you will hurt yourself. No don’t touch that it will burn you. Your negative programming began with the people who loved and care about you the most. The anxiety and the fear of making sure that you were safe contributed to creating a situation that explains why does our autosuggestion need to be based on negativity and fear? You see although they all meant well and did it out of love the message was coming out through fear. Unfortunately you picked up on the emotion of fear and it impacted on your own autosuggestion.
Building up negativity over time
Then there were teachers and other well meaning adults who also reinforced this notion of safety through saying no. All this negativity builds up over time so that your subconscious mind is feeding off the negative auto-suggestion stored away inside your brain. The problem here is that when you are so conscious of negativity as your main dominant thought you attract more negativity towards yourself.
I’ll give you a perfect example of this. I played cricket for many years and was captain and coach of my club. We had a really good team and we made the grand final in three consecutive years. We played so well and yet let ourselves down by not being able to hold simple catches. In cricket terms they say that catches win matches. It turned out that this was the case. We were runners up three times in a row. Casting my mind back to those grand finals because you never really get over losing them. I clearly see that the negativity played a big part. The negativity built up from dropping simple catches impacted on all three results.
Winners make a habit of manufacturing their own positive expectations in advance of the event.
Brian Tracy
We off course did the very opposite to this we manufactured our negative expectations and just ended up dropping more catches and consequently lost all three grand finals.
Auto-suggestion of a winner.
Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will.
If only I had of been such a keen student of our thoughts and the mind when we were playing our grand finals? I really believe that positive thinking would have changed at least two of the results. You see when you expect a positive outcome your subconscious mind and the universe are collaborating to provide experiences for you to achieve it. Then it’s up to you to recognise these experiences and act quickly so that the end result is in line with your thoughts. In fact when you can think, say and act clearly in keeping with your goals then the end result is a done deal. According to Mahatma Ghandi this is the ultimate thought process of a winner. The people who can synchronise what they think, what they say and how they act have immense power.
Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed. Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well.
Mahatma Gandhi
Why is our autosuggestion based on negativity and fear?
It doesn’t have to be! In fact we have the capacity to erase the negativity and fear from our thoughts all together. The amazing part is we can begin right now to alter the build up of negativity. How do we do this? We do it by taking control of our thoughts.
- Live in the positive emotions.
- Create a positive self talk and say it 300 to 400 times each day.
- Remove negativity from your life.
- Stay away from negative puking people, if this is impossible think of your perfect day when they are puking negativity and smile.
- Surround your self with positive, highly motivated people.
- Read good positive uplifting books.
- Begin a free personal development course.
- Create a harmonious mastermind group.
Please share your comments and stories about encounters with negative or positive autosuggestion and post it.
